Day 1. Fly from Atlanta (ATL) to Marseille (MRS) France

Today, we board your overnight transatlantic flight to Marseille. Enjoy a full meal service as well as in-flight entertainment such as movies, music, etc.

Day 2. Arrive in MARSEILLE.

After arrival, we visit Notre-Dame de la Garde Basilica. Celebrate Mass here. Orientation tour of Marseille.

DAY 3. MARSEILLE - SAINT MAXIMIN LA SAINTE BAUME AVIGNON

Breakfast at hotel. Travel to St. Mary Magdalene Shrine to visit. Then, we continue to Saint-Maximin et La Sainte-Baume-One Sanctuary. Two holy places to discover, situated in Provence: The grotto where Mary Magdalene spent the last 30 years of her life, and the basilica where her remains were unearthed. First witness to the Resurrection of Christ, Mary Magdalene came to France to preach the Christian faith. She decided to stay in La Sainte-Baume to repent inside a cave, helping those who came to her. Her remains were exhumed in 1279 where the Saint-Maximin Basilica now stands. We celebrate Mass. At the end of the day we go to Avignon for dinner and overnight.

Day 4. AVIGNON

Breakfast at hotel. We start our day visiting the Palais des Papes, a historical palace located in Avignon, Southern France. It is one of the largest and most important medieval Gothic buildings in Europe. Once a fortress and palace, the papal residence was a seat of Western Christianity during the 14th century. Celebrate Mass. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5. AVIGNON - LA SALETTE

Breakfast at hotel. Travel to Our Lady of La Sallette to visit the grave of Fr. Gene Barrett. (Celebrating Mass TBD). On Saturday, September 19, 1846, around 3 p.m., two young shepherds, Mélanie Mathieu (or Mélanie Calvat), aged just under fifteen, and Maximin Giraud (sometimes called Mémin, and, by mistake, Germain), eleven years old, guarded their herds on a mountain near the village of La Salette-Fallavaux (department of Isère). On the evening, they said to their masters that they had seen a lady in tears who had spoken to them. Widow Pra (also known as widow Caron), mistress of Mélanie, thought that they had seen the Blessed Virgin and the children were urged to tell the priest of La Salette everything. Day 6. LA SALETTE- LYON- ST. JOHN VIANNEY - PARAY LE MONIAL.

Breakfast at hotel. This morning, we depart for Lyon. We Celebrate Mass in the Church of Ars where St Jean-Marie Vianney, the patron saint of parish priests, spent a great part of his holy life-giving powerful sermons but most of all by his prayer and his way of life. His notoriety as a holy priest grew slowly, and Father Vianney soon became known as, simply, the Curé d’Ars (priest of Ars). There are reports that during the last 10 years of his life, he spent as many as 18 hours a day in the confessional, and that toward the end of his life, he confessed up to 80,000 penitents a year. Ars became famous all over the Christian world. On June 19, 2009 the Pontiff chose as the occasion for this jubilee year the 150th anniversary of the death of St John Mary Vianney, the Year of the Priest. This afternoon we drive to Visit the Chapel of the Visitation where Jesus exposed His Sacred Heart to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque during a number of apparitions, and see the chasse of St. Margaret containing her relics. Dinner and overnight.

Day 7. PARAY LE MONIAL – CHARTRES

Breakfast at hotel. We drive to Chartres. Chartres is one of the best-known pilgrimage sites in France, is home to a beautiful 13th-century Gothic cathedral dedicated to the Virgin Mary. This is one of the Grandes Cathédrales in France and a major pilgrimage site in the country. Every year, there’s a popular pilgrimage from Notre Dame of Paris to Notre-Dame of Chartres that attracts thousands of pilgrims from all around the world. We celebrate Mass. The Cathedral of Chartres hosts a beautiful labyrinth carved on the pavement. Apart from the impressive Cathedral, Chartres is a lovely place to visit, with some beautiful medieval architecture, narrow cobbled streets and a picturesque area crossed by little canals. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 8 CHARTRES- PARIS

Breakfast at hotel. We drive to Paris. Upon our arrival in Paris, we will enjoy a panoramic sightseeing tour of Paris. On our tour we will see the famous sights, including the Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, and the Eiffel Tower.

We will visit La Madeleine Church. We celebrate Mass. La Madeleine is a Neo-Classical masterpiece of French architecture. L’église Sainte Marie Madeleine or the Church of Saint Mary Magdalene - is a landmark of the French capital. Finished in the 19th century, it boasts magnificent columns and is full of marble sculptures and gilt decorations. It once hosted the composer Chopin’s funeral and eventually came to represent the glory of 19th century Paris. We will spend the rest of the day exploring Notre Dame Cathedral (If Available) The Revolution banned the conserving of relics and all other sacred symbols linked to the kings, though this allowed for pieces judged to be of high artistic quality to be saved. These relics were handed over to the Archbishop of Paris in 1804 and are still held in the cathedral treasury of Notre Dame, cared for by the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre and the cathedral chapter. The first Friday of every month at 3 PM, guarded by the Knights, the Holy Relics are exposed for veneration and adoration by the faithful before the cathedral’s high altar. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 9. PARIS

Breakfast at hotel. We visit the Shrine of the Miraculous Medal. We view the incorrupt body of St. Catherine Laboure whose guardian angel led her to the chapel where the Blessed Virgin displayed a vision of the miraculous medal and later the green scapular wherein the Blessed Virgin promised bountiful graces for all that wore this medal. See the Church of St. Vincent de Paul. Then we go around the corner to the chapel where his body rests above the main altar in a solid silver shrine covered by the goldsmith, Odiot. This afternoon, we drive by coach to Montmartre. Take the funicular to go up and visit the Church of the Sacre Coeur. We celebrate Mass. Free time in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight.

Day 10 PARIS - Sainte Chapelle

Breakfast at hotel. We start with precious vestige of the royal palace of the City, The Sainte-Chapelle was built in the middle of the 13th century by Louis IX, future Saint Louis, to house the most prestigious relic of the Passion of Christ: the Crown of Thorns and a fragment of the True Cross. Built in less than 7 years, a record time, the Sainte-Chapelle was conceived as a piece of goldsmith’s art, whose walls of light exalt the Capetian Monarchy and the Kingdom of France. Damaged during the Revolution, the former Palatine Chapel became a laboratory for the restoration of historical monuments in the 19th century. Divided into 15 stained glass bays of 15m height, the 1113 stained glass panels of the windows relate scenes of the Old and New Testament and tell the history of the world, according to the Bible, until the arrival of the relics in Paris in the 13th century. We celebrate Mass at Saint Germain Des Pres Church.

This evening we will have a special cruise dinner on the Seine river from 8:30pm to 11:30pm, then back to our hotel for overnight.

Day 11. PARIS – FREE DAY

Full free day on your own.

DAY 12. OUR JOURNEY HOME

After an early breakfast and whole-hearted farewells, you will transfer to Paris airport for your return flight home.
