About this trip
Dear Pilgrims,
I am blessed and excited to announce the CDA Oklahoma Pilgrimage to Italy. Our National Chaplain, Fr. Shenan J. Boquet, and I invite you to save the dates of May 12 through May 23, 2025. This all-inclusive pilgrimage has been designed expressly for our Catholic Daughters of the Americas and your families and friends.
In January 2022, Pope Francis announced “Pilgrims of Hope” as the motto for Jubilee Year 2025. A Jubilee Year is an extraordinary year of grace, which begins just before Christmas and ends on the Epiphany of the following year. Among this jubilee’s events is the celebration of families. In harmony with this focus, our pilgrimage will highlight the Holy Family.
While many have visited Italy before, this pilgrimage will include some lesser-known locations. We will go to the Cathedral of Orvieto, which preserves the Eucharistic Miracle of Bolsena. We will spend time in Perugia at the Cathedral of San Lorenzo. The “Holy Ring” (Santo Anello), said to be the ring that St. Joseph gave Mary at their wedding, is displayed there. The group will travel to Loreto, the location of the Holy House (the home of the Holy Family), which miraculously appeared in Italy in 1294. Then, we will go to Lanciano to view the site of the Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano. At the Grotto in Monte Sant’Angelo, we will see the Sanctuary of Saint Michael the Archangel, where, according to legend, St. Michael appeared. The sanctuary is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites.
This pilgrimage will be a memorable, meaningful trip and a magnificent way to celebrate the Jubilee Year. I invite you all to join us.
To be a part of this wonderful pilgrimage, please contact me at 580-471-3993 or email me at: jjdmkd@gmail.com.
